Air Conditioner quit blowing cold air, the fan still blows, but no cold front or rear. The evaporator under the dash is ice cold, but I still get no cold air to the vents. Could this be a blend door issue, or something else? One day it was working just fine with ice cold air, the next day no cold air at all.
I cant find any obvious leaks anywhere, and I have dumped dumped one can of freon into the system, zero change. The compressor seems to cycle on, and off normally.
Forgot to mention, I do hear a definite Hiss coming from the pass side of dash.
AC system quit. No more cold air for me

Here's a question................does it blow any air at all????? hot, cold or in the middle............just air. If it's not blowing air out of the vents.......it's not a freon or refrigerant problem.........if the compressor is running and cycling properly............it's not a refrigerant problem..........keep adding freon to the system and it will become one though

The blend door is probably stuck on "hot".

If you had it on continually in a low charge state it could have built up a block of ice on evaporator coil which would stop air flow. I would leave off or look at coil to make sure it is clear. If so it is probably the blend door as above. Don't just keep dumping refrigerant in it as a high pressure will get really expensive. Like new compressor.

I give up, and have taken it to a real mechanic. Will post up when they figure it out. Maybe ill luck out, and itll just be a plugged orifice or something inexpensive like that. LOL, yeah right...

Maybe the blower wheel got loose on the motor shaft? That happened to me before. But the hiss sounds like maybe one of the blend door actuators is bad. Its just about time to turn those heater valves back on anyway.

Mine still blows cold air, but not cold enough. I've taken it to two A/C shops, BOTH of which found too much refrigerant in the system. Each shop also evacuated the system and refilled it with what was supposed to be the proper amount according to the label.
Either the first shop screwed up, or something about my A/C system is screwy. I don't know what it is, but I don't feel like spending another $100 just to have someone evacuate and refill my system again without actually diagnosing the problem. -

But really,it sounds like one shop is wrong to me.
