I have CDL in California. Took Hazmat written passed it. Got my letter from TSA I'm cleared to hold endorsement. Now they notified DMV I cleared. Does DMV issue me Licence in mail??? Or do Gota go down ther to tell them to issue me new one???
Adding on Hazmat Endorsement, do I have to go to the DMV?

I would assume you go back to DMV and they give you a new card with whatever new endorsements you have

nothing is gonna happen if you dont open that wallet
money talks lol but i think they will make you pay again for a new shiny license

Yep.. go to the DMV and pay (in most cases) for the endorsement.. With Hazmat you get to pay for the privilege of getting background checked every four years and pay.. My CDL costs around 160 bucks.

in NJ when your lic is going to expire you need to take your hazmat test again and go to local finger print place and have them take new finger prints ( finger prints dont change though) and fill paperwork out. DMV, will charge you for a new license, (every endorsement you get after that you need a new license too). Make sure you have all proper ID at finger print place, ( they turned 2 people away while I was there for that).

Go to your local DMV. Fill out the form they have there and wait in the very long line that will be there before you arrive. Once you get to the front desk, let them know that you have completed the TSA requirements for HAZMAT and you like to get a new license with the endorsement.
He/she will then ask you for all the required documents they wanted when you first got your CDL as proof, even though you HAVE a current CDL with you.
Once that is complete and they make sure you haven't forgotten anything, (If you have, then you have to leave; go home; get what you need and start the process all over again) you may or may not have to get you picture taken again. You will then need to pay a fee for a newly issued CDL.
Then you will either wait for them to issue a license to you (if they have the capability to create them there OR you will get a paper copy and wait for DMV to mail you a laminated copy to your address on file.
So any way you look at it, your gonna pretty much miss a day of work do all that. So do yourself a favor and bring all the documents and crap they need the first time. If you can book at appointment online, that might cut down on your wait time at DMV.Lepton1 Thanks this. -

Sometimes I thank God we are somewhat backwards in these hills. If you wanted fingerprints show up at the Station and they are more than happy to slap em down and get em to you on paper to give out.
I am not looking forward to the increasingly byzantine regulations and hoops being built for the next generation truckers.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
