So Maverick is doing my pre hire stuff etc. I asked them about the trucks. They said they are fairly new Cascadias but are pretty bare. They have no CB or power inverters (and I need an inverter they say to run stuff) The recruiter was unsure on some things about adding that stuff, but he said they have to install the CB and inverter for me. So where ever they send me to get my truck, does anyone know if I can purchase these items from them and have them installed, or must I wait till I'm at a terminal again with my own products to have them installed?

cant tell you about maverick, but i can tell you that most companies that will sell you one wont give you a competitive price. you are better off talking to a few drivers to find out what you want/need and then go buy it on your own beforehand.

All Cascadias as far as I know have built in inverters as a part of the apu. As for the cb,as long as youuse the quick connect which typically is already installed you wont need them to install it. Antennas are already installed.

I also wouldnt call them bare bones. They are nicely equipped for company trucks.

All of the 2011 and newer Cascadias are equipped with built in power inverters. They provide two regular electrical outlets by the bunk, and two more in the cabinet where your TV would normally go. I've been told that Maverick does not want you using your own inverters, they're too much of a fire risk. You have to buy your own CB and have them install it. The company store sells at least one model that you can have payroll deducted once you sign your job offer. Do not buy anything for the truck that requires drilling or screws - they won't allow it.

Do they have or allow a satellite dish/dome?

edit: I just saw the no holes or drilling comment, I am guessing if they don't come with one the don't allow it

I know I saw a Maverick truck with a white Sat dome, but I'm not sure if it was a company truck or a MavIC truck.

If you are talking about satellite tv the answer is no. However you probably wouldnt have much time for that anyway unless you got hung out on a weekend. There is a dish box of some sort that a few of our drivers use that runs off a internet connection as a part of the home subscription. I dont know a lot about that except that it doesnt require a satellite.

    Zerb Thanks this.
