My husband has been with US Xpress for just over a year and his fleet manager is a complete jerk. My husband can never get through on the phone to him , he will not return husband's call. He gives my husband a hard time every 2 weeks when his home time is scheduled and never gets him home on time ...Shocker I know :)

I looking for other jobs for him while he is out because he hates working for them but times are hard now and we want to make a better switch not just another company with the same ####.

He has left messages with FM supervisor and HR and not 1 returned call . He is wanting to get a local job so he can be home at night or at least more often than every 14 days.

Lately he has been doing alot of sitting and was asked this week by his FM to work this next weekend which was his scheduled weekend off because there is alot of loads and they are short handed. I told my husband that was stupid and a lie since he just sat all last weekend in GA.

My husband has been trying to call him the last 2 days and he cannot get through to him and he will not respond to his satcom messages.

We live in Oklahoma and it is a major deal just to get him home every 2 weeks.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Don't they have a terminal in OKC? Shouldn't be a big stretch to get him home.
Getting a driver home has been an ever increasing problem with freight tonnage down so low for all carriers, however.

I did the old bulls*** for bulls*** switch a lot. Sacrificed benefits. Lost vacation/holiday pay etc. Make sure you and he have a "good" plan for any kind of change these days.

I always leaped before looking. You know, the emotional type. Made a lot of mistakes.

Ya'll stay connected. My wife is the only reason I am still living on the planet!

Its not much of a stretch to Springfield, MO form OK. Theres lots of trucking jobs in Springfield, Even Prime is better than US Xpress. Indiana Western Express IWX is a very good company to work for. Anywhere is better than where he is now..,

Thank you both for your advice. I will look into springfield.

US Xpress does have a yard in OKC with a huge service area with about 10 bays but they are closing it...we believe. It used to be open 24hrs and now it is only open 6am to 6pm monday - friday.

It also has a huge for sale sign out front. They have not told the US Xpress drivers from OKC what is really going on.
