Whew had the scare of my life this morning. I pulled up a ramp out here in Colorado for the night. I fixed dinner and put my pajamas on then I sat down behind the wheel with the engine running to have a cigarette before bed. Next thing I know in an instance I'm on the ride of my life. Woke up up and when I say I woke up it was one of those heart attack inducing wheel snatching scream for your life wake ups. I snatched the wheel harder than I have in years. #### I'm fishtailing snatched it the other way ####. Ahhh!!!!! I'm oversteer I got give a little ahhh!!! I'm shoulder to shoulder I'm gonna die!!!! Ahhh!!!! All this happened in less than a half a second before I realized I was parked doing zero miles per hour lol. I fell asleep. If someone had been pointing a camera at me it probably would have been real funny. Anyway just wondering what I could have done differently. Slam on brakes. Give it. A little fuel. I'm thinking just hammer down and ride it out acting like it's totally normal if anyone's looking lol.

    Been there done that.

What's worse is when you do it in the sleeper. You switch trucks and decide to switch pillow ends. Sooo yeah you spin out of habit and meet wall.

That's not uncommon when a driver takes a snooze in the drivers seat with the engine running. It's happened to most of us at one time or another.
It happens in rest areas at night a lot. You pull in, set the brake, put your head on the steering wheel, something wakes you and you think you fell asleep driving and start stomping on the brake pedal. Or, the truck beside you starts pulling out and you wake up and think your truck is rolling backwards, so you start stomping on the brake. Friend of mine started stomping on the brake pedal, blowing his air horn, and screaming at the same time.

At least some smart### didn't wait until a passing car had their headlights pointing directly through your windshield and proceed to pound on the roof and backwall of the cab. Now THAT is truely terrifying.

Never snooze in the driver's seat ... you don't want to condition your mind and body that the driver's seat is place to sleep.
