I know whenever you pass a truck and get in front of it, it is polite to have a flash on the back of the truck to show thanks, especially when the driver on the back flashes his hi beam to indicate you can pass. At first I thought the thanks signal of the quick flashes was a 4 way flasher signal but I've seen it and it is a quick flash that does not look like the four way flasher and at the end I found out it was the hi beam light because I see a truck try to pass another truck and the truck behind him was having that quick flashes on the back so I figured the guy behind him must have turn that hi beam on and off to indicate the guy in front of him can pass, so that quick flashes on the back came from the hi beam light, am I correct? and at first when I try to say thanks after the guy behind me flashes his hi beam so I can pass, I turn on the 4 way flasher and I feel stupid after I learned that it was the hi beam.

Flashing the highbeams is annoying. The guy that has passed and gotten over has hit the interrupt switch not the 4ways. Please don't flash your highbeams at me. It temporarily blinds me. I'd much rather get a quick on/off of the headlights or nothing at all. This is one instance when the cb is especially handy but due to all the bs on 19 most drivers don't have them on.

The way it's suppose to be done is as follow's, 1). When you clear the truck your passing, they are "SUPPOSE" to turn off there headlight's to let you know, BUT the "NEW GENERATION OF STEERING WHEEL HOLDER"S", use the the HIGH BEAM FLASH which blind's you. 2). After you have been giving the clear signal(come back over), your "SUPPOSE" to flash your "TAIL LIGHT'S/MARKER'S on the trailer (not use your 4 way's).

I never use my 4 way's as courtesy gesture when I come back over to the truck lane. Like I said earlier, the steering wheel holder's do it. "I DON"T" !!!
