It took a while for my previous employer (North America's largest carrier of industrial gases) to verify my employment history, but that hurdle is cleared. got my bus ticket and should be in orientation next week. I have 10 years in the trucking business ,(none of it behind the wheel) and i am looking forward to this new chapter. After pushing pencils, it will be good to be out where the rubber meets the road. Wish me luck. All advise is appreciated, and I wanted to thank all those who post here as it really helped me in my decision to pursue Prime.
Hiya, log! And welcome to the forum! Are ya going to work for O&S, Prime, IWX, CTI,Trailiner, APT, Wil-Trans, Christenson? Just curious, as I have multiple friends, who all, at one time or another, have worked for all of these companies. We can help ya, as far as what we know, personally, with a couple of these companies... Judi Kay
Good luck at Prime, logexdan! There are plenty of threads here to give you the inside scoop. A friend of mine runs for Prime... and while he has his bad days, overall he's pretty content there. Although he's dispatched out of Pittston, most of his "terminal time" is spent at Springfield... and I hear only positive about it. Be sure to keep us posted on how you progress!
Sorry, log! I didn't see that you had decide to go with Prime. My step-son has been there for almost three years...he went through their school, training, and is now in his own truck...paid off his "school" tab. He's doing well, but wants to go L/P. Judi Kay
36 hours on the silver dog can make one tired. I used the trip to get myself used to sleeping in a moving vehicle. It's something I am going to have to get used to in a hurry. Arrived # 0615 Monday morning, caught the shuttle to Campus Inn got a room assignement (with mandatory roommate) grabbed some breakfast (delicious and very affordable) took a long shower, and hit the rack. I will fill out my welcome packet and study up on the MO CDL book.
Ain't it a beauty! Yes, the food at the Campus Inn and at the Millenium building is pretty hard to beat. Enjoy!
