Go ahead of the family for a few weeks, and check out the area. Send for them after you learn the area.

Beware! You’re just Southwest of Queen City, one the busiest DOT checkpoints in Texas.

Most people think of Texas as a welcome reprieve from the busy body nonsense you get in a liberal state and, for the most part, it is.

Queen City DOT runs every day and they are unpredictable in their hours. Sometimes they’ll be open early evenings. I’ve gotten multiple random level 1 inspections there (highest level) thankfully without getting any tickets but you sure as hell don’t want to be running with a burned out tail light going through Queen City or it’s guaranteed you’ll get a ticket.

Thanks,We pre-tripped thoroughly before we left Orla. All 5 trailers we took were good.Going from Orla to Linden we weren't taking any chances. We left a few trailers in Orla for the mechanics to repair, tires and lights needed.

Ask your company, they should have that information already.

I have very little experience in East Texas but hauled a lot of oil out of the area around Madisonville, North Zulch, Caldwell, and BCS.

Historically, lots of companies have / had yards around Kilgore.

I run through there several times a week. Most of the time I get a bypass on my DriveWyze. When I do have to go in, it's normally just driving through. They do give open deck and OSOW a lot of attention though.

In the late 1990's when I worked for Patterson, it was I-30 North side, I-10 on the south side, I -45 east to I-49. Was what Patterson call East TX / West LA back then.
