    SteveO,

Do you have a job waiting on you for sure, when you get the class A?

Or, are you looking to save money by getting your CDL on your own? Without attending school.

NONE of the big companies will touch you, without a certificate from a school.

And few smaller companies will toss you into a truck, with no experience.

Kinda my freind works for a trucking company and hes wanting me to do a team with him. Im tryin to save some money and get it my self. Basically just get it then do training with the company if possible. If not ill just look for another company to get started with like a smaller one. I would just need a truck for 2 days one to practice and the other to take the test.

I would be able to compensate someone to help me. If they had a day cab that would be alot easier

How much have you driven?1 day to practice?Either you pick things up REALLY quick or know what you're doing already.I'd say go to a school or go to a company that will train you.Don't go out there with nothing but a few days on ya tryin to team with someone.Team driving is him sleeping and you driving then switch man.You have to be comfortable and trained enough to handle yourself alone even with someone else in the truck.Good luck which ever route you go and be safe an let us know how it goes!

I don't have mine yet but i agree get experience.A J.B hunt driver trains a driver goes to sleep.trainee decides to drive while trainer sleeps.trainee sees lower sleeper door open get out going down the highway tring to hold the wheel flips the truck kills them both.i am not saying you would do something dumb but get experience more than 2 days.
