I found an app for my verizon droid called pdanet. They also have it for other smartphones, and carriers. it costs $23.00 its a one time charge. The way it works is you tether your phone to the laptop, or if you have a bluetooth laptop and phone no cord needed. It uses your data connection with your cell carrier. I have unlimited data with verizon and just tried it here at home, on it now and it works great:biggrin_25525: no more aircard or truckstop wifi!!! as long as you are in a 3g network you are set.

I use it all the time, it works perfect. wait til your free trial expires then buy it. Its WELL WORTH IT plus then you dont have to pay verizon for tethering when they actually start offering it for the droid.

for me verizojn is quite a bit slower than ATT in the bigger cities, but verizon has seemingly better speed when you actually have coverage out in the sticks.

Also pda net works on almost all smart phones, droid, berrys any windows mobile phone and one or two other ones.

The best part is YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR TETHERING. :biggrin_25525:

Bluetooth is kind of sluggish, tethering works a lot better with a usb cable. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Pdanet is also available for the iPhone, but it works a little different. It turns the iPhone into a wi-fi hotspot. Unfortunately you have to jailbreak the iPhone to use it though.
