Just wondering if any flatbed teams exist. I never see anything mentioned about teams pulling flatbeds.

There are F/B teams, probably not as many as Van/reefer/tanks. The reason is most F/B loads aren't "hot". Just get 'em there with-in reason. There are exceptions. And also, job sites normally only receive in daytime hours, so a team hauling &^$ to get there needs to arrive when they can get the load off.

Thanks for the info AllowMe. I kind of thought that maybe it was due to most of the hauls being rather short, less than 1000 miles. I didn't realize that most were not hot and the normally daytime hours for receiving.
I worked for at a Lowe's and we unloaded flatbeds, mostly lumber and concrete, at anytime they came and wanted them there early in the morning. That was my only experience around flatbed trucks.
I guess the wife and I are a little old and out of shape for flatbeds, but if I could lose some pounds (about 50!), I think it would be interesting.
I notice that you are just a little older than me, but you got 32 yrs experience. The wife and I start school June 14.

We don't run teams per-say but some loads are "hot" and they want a team to
get it there as soon as possible.

We run oilfield equipment and 99% of the places we pick up and drop off are open
24/7. The ones that aren't will send out the person who is on call.

Thanks, Coonass. Flatbeds seem a little scary to me, but also more fun. As as I was telling Allowme, I need to lose some weight. Falling off the trailer would not be much fun. When I worked at Lowe's, just climbing up unto the trailer was little difficult. Not as agile as I was thirty or forty years ago. But if I could lose the weight, I think I could be up to the challenge ( I say as my wife laughs at me and calls me a dreaming old fart!).
