Are you given reasonable time to make your drops?

    If you are running between 55-58 mph are you given sufficient time to make your drops or is that always a constant source of stress?

    Depends on when the load is booked, and when they send it to you. Sometimes you get a load and it's already late. Other times you'll get a load that you could run in one day, but doesn't deliver for 3.

    Only thing you can do is make sure you can run it before you accept the load, and if you can't, make sure dispatch knows. They may want you to still take the load, and they'll just reschedule the delivery apt., or deliver it late anyway. If ya have a qc, make sure all info is on it to cover yer butt.

    For the most part, I've never had a load that couldn't be run when I accepted it. It was things that happened after I accepted the load that caused me to be late, IE previous loads unloading took longer than expected, traffic or weather enroute, or a breakdown, etc. Anytime I've been sent a load that I couldn't legally run, just shot a message back on the QC that said as much, and they either got someone who could or gave it to me anyway and rescheduled.

    I have been given loads with pickup and delivery times that required the truck to go 130 mph and do it non stop.

    Should note the truck was governed to 63 mph.

    alot depends on the company. if the company uses the paperless logs, then you will have enough time. but the ones that do not use the paperless logs could have it so you don't have time to stop. but alot of the companies are now giving you ample time to make a delivery. but remember one thing, if you are going to be later than your eta is you must contact your dispatcher. they do understand that there can be delays. like traffic, accidents, and weather. they know that no load is worth your life or anyone elses life.

    It depends. Conway loads suck big time, they are timed so tight going to the bathroom is an issue. Kennewick, Wa to Henderson, CO is 1100 miles, it you get either 20.5 or 21.5 forgot which it is. And that is in a 65mph truck. And a couple hundred miles in Oregon where the speed limit is 55. That is of course a team run, but still.

    I had runs where I had all the time in the world, and others where I had to run 700 or so miles a day to make it. But, I run produce and the slow loading times eat away the extra time I may have for driving.

    Most of my loads don't have a set time, just in the morning usually. I don't worry about it if I am late, there's no point in stressing myself over something that can't be fixed.
