[base plate]stupid question, but what's the gross net weight for Heavy Highway Vehicle
    ^^^

im trying to get on with landstar and since i bought my truck from a financial company my name isn't on the title yet, so instead of getting my 45 days free to get landstar's IL base plate, i had to get my EIN number with IRS, and all that good stuff and pay a pro-rated fee of $60 or so before i can get my IL tag that they use. so, i looked at my truck and saw GVWR 50,000 pounds, would that be the same as my gross net weight for Heavy Highway Vehicle? im trying to do this #### 2290form for the first time and i dunnno what to put, lmao. ####....:biggrin_25516::biggrin_25518:

GVWR is gross vehicular weight rating / what weight the truck is manufactured to haul. Example 12,000 pound front axle, and 38,000 pound rears total 50,000 pounds. This is not the weight you will be licensed to carry, only the weight the truck is rated to carry. The suspension, axles, hubs, etc. The trailer is rated to carry the rest of the weight.

You need to pick the column "V" [ over 75,000 # ] on the 2290, if you intend to haul fully loaded [80,000] loads, and choose that as your weight bracket on your state IRP.

Quick tip, find a local IRS center and they help fill it out and you pay and they stamp it right there because you must have a stamped copy
