So basically what you are saying is have no life, and spend all my time in the truck.

No thanks, I like to go home to my house every week, I couldn't stand to live in the truck full time, I would go crazy. Anyway if I want to travel, I'll take a couple weeks off and go somewhere, that's all I need

While this may have been attainable some years ago, it isn't nowadays.
Hubby and I have MINIMAL out going bills...250.00 a month for house, no utilities while OTR, no car payments, no credit cards,
only real bills are for cell phones and auto insurance, our total bills are less than 1000.00 per month.

we go home MAYBE 3 times a year, for 2-3 days. Vacation one week a year, and with freight the way it is right now, we were broke at the end of that week, and of course, no paycheck for the week we took off.

In order to take a whole SUMMER off, we would have to run non-stop for 5 years, no phones, no house, every penny into savings....MAYBE then, we could take, say, a month off....but then, WHERE? No home anymore, so spend all our money on hotels? Aww, well....it's a nice dream, though.

More of a dream, and I dont see any attitudes here. Its just not possible no company is gonna let a driver do that for 1, and also I dont think anyone would want to live in a truck, I did it for 6 months and it was lame, granted I came home for 2 days every 2-3 weeks but I didnt have any payments except for a cell phone bill, and feeding myself. Still I wouldnt be able to take an entire winter off.

Hubby and I DO, basically, LIVE in the truck....have for the past 3-4 years. While it isn't what alot of others would be able to "live" with, for us, it works.
All of our kids are grown, so it's just us, and our 2 dogs. I have books, my computer, my cell, movies, etc. to keep me occupied if I get bored, and he always has someone to talk to, look up things on the maps, determine our routing, etc.
Like I said, this lifestyle isn't for most, but it works for us, and we enjoy it.(most of the time...LOL)
It also helps that we actually still LIKE each other, and enjoy the others company!! LOL :biggrin_25525:
