    Hello,
I replaced brake shoes on the trailer and replaced anchor pins too, well on of the brake shoe driver side front axle top shoe won’t sit properly on the drum while bottom lines up fine. Today my brakes locked up and later when i check that brake i see the top shoe touching the lip of the brake drum and with the brakes released i could not move the slack it was locked, i reused my old drums. Will new drum fix my issue does anybody have this issue ? I saw some post somebody says its fine but this does not look right to me

Did you buy and check the shoes ? I had a Fruehauf trailer back in the day, I had bought shoes and didn’t check them, they didn’t fit. Found out later they had 2 type of shoes. Check yours…..

I bought 4 set of brake shoes and all of them were 4707 I’m pretty sure they are correct

Sometimes the linings sit a hair or two off center of the shoe saddles when riveted. The edge of lining may be catching the wear lip on the drum just enough to stick. Either swap top shoes side to side or grind a bit off the shoe edge for clearance.

How old are the drums? Is it possible that you have a cam roll over situation?

Was the old shoe square under the drum? If so a shoe problem. If not it’s going to be the spider or backing plate whatever they are calling it theses days

Did you use a sledge hammer to get the anchor pins out?

I used hammer for a few times but i realized that they are not coming off that easy so i rent a tool from autozone and drove them out and a lot of heat.
I installed today new s cam, s cam bushing (tube), installed new brake drum as well and also installed sleeved nuts to center the wheel just in case if something wrong with the hub. I finished everything adjuster the brake, 1/2 turn back but there is still big gap between the shoe and the drum. Is there a chance that these brake shoes are defective? i don’t know why they would not adjust, push rod travel is like 1/2 inch or something and now i’m wondering if brake shoe is touching the drum when I’m braking with that big gap. Thank you for all helping
