    In Saskatchewan 5 years ago a buddies brother paid $17k installed for 1 pole replaced overnight on a Saturday night/ Sunday morning.
    Yes he was liquored up and therefore had no insurance. The small town (750 population) was out of power for 9 hours on a February night.

    Sooo...can I be hired with a DUI and a preventable?? I was driving my truck and the power pole just leaped out in front of me! It was my dispatcher’s fault for expecting me to do my job in a safe and timely manner....sober!! I mean for sure I am not to blame!!!:D:eek::Do_O

    You laugh, but we had a dispatcher get seriously ticked off at a driver for refusing to cover a shift another driver called off on. He was sitting in a bar drinking when dispatch called him.

    That story made me chuckle......I would think alcohol and a stripper pole would be a better combination. Wrong pole driver

    Oh I know it happens. I’ve gotten that call before. I’m not really a drinker...but if I’m off duty and they call me and I got nothing going on I’m glad to help but if I’ve got plans they are S.O.L! I work to live I don’t live to work! An F’up on someone else’s part does not constitute an emergency on mine!

    And of course I was making a joke. But just to add. I don’t know how he ended up behind the wheel drunk. Irresponsible, an idiot or pressured by a dispatcher. Who knows....what I do know is there is no excuse for such behavior! Thank God it was just power poles and not someone’s family.

    Without a doubt,this (soon to be ex) driver is going to get the full-on “New York Experience”!!
    DUI
    Taking out utility poles
    Driving on prohibited roads
    And usually whatever fines you would get for such offenses in other states New York likes to tack on $1000!
    Never mind the truck was towed from the scene (wrecker bill is going to be expensive).
    @Chinatown-don’t bother,this guy is done!!
