Hi, Looking at trading my 04 Volvo FH12 on a 03 K104 with C15 475 RTLO16918 box. too much electronics and BS in a volvo.... If i get a pitsberg or remap to 550hp, is that gearbox going to blow its bum and walk home without me or what? The truck has 1 million KM and great service history... Thoughts please? I want more grunt that the FH12 460, the KW must be able to out pull my mates DAF 480..... Cheers
They'll usually take more than they're rated for finding a shop that'll do the uprate though is a smaller task. Usually CAT will want you to put a new trans and clutch in I think it's just some stupid deal where they're trying to charge you more and cover their own behinds. you're bumping from 1650 to 1850. If you keep your foot out of it and don't drive like a swifty and start grabbing gears you should be fine. Where's my old friend wore out when you need him. lol
