I'm going thru the application process and setting my orientation date. My question is.. I got an 04 volvo 780 that I believe weighs somewhere around 21,000 with fuel, my stuff in the truck and my fat self in the seat (sticker on door jam says 19,000 and change). Will I have a lot of problems with the weight of thier loads? Any info would be great. Thanks

I was told that majority of the time I'd be in the 40,000lb + on load weight is this true? I'm trying to find out what kind of #'s I'd be working with at National Carriers. Any help would be great.

My husband has a 2000 Freightliner...always says when he is overweight that they should be getting Volvo's to pull those loads...I will check with him for you and let you know...

why don't you take the $$ and scale the darn thing out with your "fat arse" in it? Why guess? And fuel weighs 7.3 pounds a gal NOT 8 like everyone thinks! That will just screw you up when close on weight and need the fuel and it's cheap where you are!

When I went to NCI in '07 they got an empty weight on me with a full tank of fuel. I had an '06 387 Pete and my loads coming out of the plant averaged between 41 and 42000. I never got a load out of there that I couldn't scale out.

I did end up going to a scalehouse in Mo to grab a load from a driver who got shut down and his load put me overweight but they paid me $200 to sit on the trailer for a few hours while they found someone with a Volvo to come fetch it then sent me on my way to pick up a different load.

    Hope that helps.

Hey thank you guys for you help :) Miz behavin, yes that does help ALOT! I can't wait to see a paycheck paid in full and not having to beg for it. I had heard from other drivers that it's a good company to drive for with good lanes.
