I've met with one road block after another, my last ditch effort is to put the car to work and start doing courier work.

Where do I find small packages needed fast delivery across country ?
    What do I charge ?
I'm willing to drive night and day to get it there ASAP.
Deliver it, pick up some other package, drive somewhere else.

So the question is how do I find small loads that will fit in my car and what do I charge ?
    Can I expect say $1 a mile ?
    Do people pay upfront ?
    Paid on Delivery ?
What's the standard so I can at least be in the ballpark
    Thanks
    Moose.

So you want to compete with Fed Ex, UPS, DHL and the USPS using your car.

    Good luck with that....

Small packages that need to get across the country ASAP usually ride in an airplane.

I hope your car is older than a 1999, so it's ELD exempt

I saw a couple of those, but I'm not sure which one, Citizen Driver got horrible reviews, so did Courier Brokers. So I thought I'd just ask.

There’s some company called cartel. You never hear much about them. They must have a great retirement plan.

My son was delivering auto parts with his pickup but the money wasn't that good for the amount of fuel and mileage he put on his truck .

Only desperate people try to do this, so of course everyone takes advantage of them.

That pretty much covers my situation. My last contracting job went south when the customer wanted to double the amount of work involved and then acted all outraged when I doubled the price. Said we couldn't work together, I of course suggested that's not working together, thats just taking advantage of someone.

Needless to say that was the end of that, and now I'm in a bind. Which is better than paying someone to work for them I suppose.

Still. I admire OP's enthusiasm and drive for ideas.
    You never know.
Some of them, for some of them naive kids, as we older pricks want to see them, will work.

    RStewart and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
