I have a 2003 kwt600 with cat c-15. I am supposed to be bringing it to CAT for an overhaul. However, my luck is I'm sitting at truck stop and it will not turn on.

When I turn the key it just knocks. I had a new starter put in about a month ago when I was having the same issue. I used to jump it with a screw driver where the batteries are. I tried this with the new starter and it will not even turn it over, it just clicks.

I tried jumping with cables using another gentleman's Pete. No dice.

Does anyone know any tricks to turn this sucked on? I've tried everything I know. Also there IS fuel in both tanks.

Batteries are fairly new and are not dead. I tried wiggling the wires from the starter and followed them to the batteries and no go.

Hitting the starter with a hammer? If so yes I've tried. Is there something else to thump

How does one do that? If I remember correctly when I did that it just sparked. Maybe I was touching the wrong thing?

The only other thing I have seen without changing parts is a ground to the starter. try adding another ground to the starter.
