Hi, Wondering if anyone can help me understand this scenario. Im about to purchase a Kenworth k104 2005. the owner has told me it had a 6NZ engine up until Cat replaced it with a new remanned engine which they then put a C16 block and head but refitted all the 6NZ turbo and ECU.

Im not sure if this is possible or not, if someone can help me understand what i am being told and is it a recipe for disaster or a good mix. id like to understand what it is i am possibly buying into.

Far as I know c16 is a different crank and same block as c15.

I don't think a 2005 truck would of had a 6nz to begin with, maybe the MBN and its got the 6nz file and turbo but I could be wrong.

Are you in North America or Australia or New Zealand?
K104 and 2005 6NZ makes me think Australia.

This may help others to give better information.

Very easy to find this iformation out. Find out from the owner which cat dealer did the built. Call the cat dealer with vin number. They will tell you EVERYTHING that was done to the engine all the way down to the parts. Ask me how I know. Easy as that, no head scratching and guessing.
