I was running hotshot before the Covid sickness hit. And about the time the lockdown started i recieved a notice of my cdl being reduced to a class c. At the time i was not driving so i didnt get my medical card updated. I did not have the money to pay for it since i was not driving. I even called the Texas DPS and asked about my situatiion. I was informed by a lady that i was good. And that i would have to have my medical card before i hit the road regardless. So is there any thing any one knows that can help me, i would appreciate any information i can get.

Get a new med card, bring it to DMV, get upgraded class A CDL.

In the future, if you are letting your card expire you should go certify as "intra state exempt" so you keep the Class A status. Then go change it back if you want to go back on the road and refresh the med card. This might still be an option depending on your states DMV policies.

As long as you haven’t renewed it since it downgraded, you should be able to get it back just by providing a new medical. Otherwise, you have to go back through the whole process again.

Get a new physical and register it with the DMV and you're good to go.

This is only if you were born before 1970, if memory is correct in Texas.

in California if you let the medical expire automatically move you to class C, you would only have to have a very good excuse because you let it lose, (doing for example a military service in another country) otherwise you will have to go through all the exams again no matter how many years you will have driving you have to carry a school driving certificate class A

How long ago was it downgraded? If it was the spring of 2020, you'll have to start over like you never had a cdl.
Most states only allow a year before simply getting a medical card will restore the cdl.

Which part, getting CDL A reissued or recertifying?
