I'm reading DB's thread about what he sees out on the road and recently it came up he pulled over someone with a warrant that was like 10 years old.

I've lived in 2 states in my life, Texas and Michigan. Is there a way to verify I have no outstanding warrants? Not that I think I do, but I'd like to find out before I put money down for school and then have to cross a set of scales.

I haven't gotten any tickets in the last 3 years, so I'm not really worried about anything in Michigan. I've also only been in Texas a couple times for vacation in the last 9 years no real chance to get in trouble. It's just that I know mistakes happen on both sides of the law and would like to verify before an LEO informs me while I sit in the backseat of his car. :)

If you've been pulled over for a traffic violation or been inspected by the DOT any time in the last several years, I imagine your DL info has been run through the NCIC database. If they let you continue on your way, you probably don't have any warrants. If you changed your DL from one state to another they'd probably do that, too.

Now, if you've been naughty since the last time you had contacts with the po-po......that could be a different story.

When I was 16 I let another friend drive my car and he passed a trooper doing 80. He whipped her over and asked me to switch drivers, he didn't have a license. He said he would pay the ticket. 18 years and 4 states later when I went to get my CDL it showed up. He never paid it. Cost me a bundle to get that cleared up. Yes, clean up all your skeletons before you go. They will haunt you CDL day.

If I ever see that guy again..... :)
