Looking to go from my Class B ( been driving Tri-axle dumps/ trash trucks/ and straight flat beds for 8 years ) to an A and running OTR. Basically what should I expect? I enjoy driving but I'm a little worried about the paper work? If anyone can give me any info thanks.

I'm new to trucking as well, but for this type of job, you need to ask yourself a few questions:

    1. Do you enjoy being away from your family most of the time?
    2. I know that your making more money at driving straight trucks and busses, trust me, I made the same mistake.
    3. Does making 30cpm driving all night only to make peanuts make you feel like you've done a good job?
    4. Do you like coming home every night to a hot meal, a loving family, and a hot shower waiting for you?

Believe it or not, I've wanted to be a trucker ever since I was born. So far, im not enjoying it, but who knows, it might be something your into. Bottom line, your probably making more money now than if you were to drive trucks. I quit driving public transit and right away I knew I lost a good thing. Great money and benefits and home time. Sure miss those $1,300 paychecks every two weeks:biggrin_2553: So needless to say, im going back to buses in a few years.
