Ask the federal DOT. I once had a question for the DOT and it was promptly answered via email which was available on the clearinghouse site.
If you're going to run your truck under your own authority then you'll need to have a Carrier account for the Clearinghouse. If you're going to lease on and run under another carrier's authority then you'll only need to be registered as a driver.
I remember that it's some switch between accounts I don't find in mobile browser. So I recommend to do the registration from PC.

You will need to get a carrier account. The account you already have is for a driver and you will still need that so you don't need to do anything about it. My understanding is that as a carrier (your company) you will have to query the clearinghouse on your driver ( you ) once a year.
