I was leashed on at scheider for about 3 weeks when it was force dispatch and was asked to pull my labels off my doors for refusing to go to Washington state. And then refusing to go to salt lake. They had excellant dispatchers but they want o/o doing the nw. Which it cost lots of more money to go there . Their pay was terrible at 80cpm in 2002 I think it was. But they give you lots of miles just to wear out your equipment. They may be better now since it's not force dispatch anymore.

I say it like it was there for me. May be different for others there but the big boss( I suppose he was over ic's) in NC is the one who ask me to go to Dallas to pull labels. I have no reason to hide the way it was . Or have a reason to lie about this.

They have roughly two levels of trucks. Low level is like a typical fleet spec truck. Premium level typically has fridge and premium interior with better seat, etc. Depending upon your situation, often the basic level requires no down payment but the premium level requires a small dp. In my case, I paid $2,000 down for a premium level. It doesn't have everything it would have if I could have spec'd it myself, but it is a mighty nice truck and a big upgrade over the (nice) fleet truck I drove previously.

Money-wise....everyone has their own opinion of what is good money, but much of the midwest is a strong area and trips to/from Texas and the midwest are often decent. I'm on a PA to TX to MI to PA loop right now.

I'm new at this yet (since 7/1) and hope to do better but am currently averaging $4,000+ per week gross and $1,500+ per week net on a mix of midwest, midatlantic, southeast, and northeast. Best rates are in the northeast and rates between the northeast and midwest stink.

I formerly pulled reefer coast to coast. Getting used to short runs has been a difficult adjustment for me but I do appreciate the (mostly) drop and hook freight and of course the ability to dispatch myself.

How good is the freight on the west coast. I live in Oregon so I really need to know this lol. I would prefer to stay in the western 11 if possible but am flexible if needed.
