Considering shoulder area, length of road available, grade, .....you get it. Where is the worst?

Anyplace is the worst place to chain.

And anywhere before that is a good place to stop until the storm passes.

Anywhere you have to chain up while it is snowing and traffic is heavy is the worst. Don't go past the chainup areas on Donner even if there is no place to park. My worst experience was on HWY 12, east of Helena MT in a 45 mph wind right in the middle of a two lane road. Only time I ever spun out....

I got to the chaining area at Donner, the Trooper told me, "Sir You need to Chain Up" I said no, I'll go back down till this feeling goes away, I got back to the bottom and there was a guy just pulling out to go east bound I thought my lucky day! I pulled ip and a guy runs side ways to the hole, Gets out and comes to my door, i need that spot, I said not like I need it, I'm waiting till Donner pens up before I go over it. He got mad at me, I back in it, I was listening to the box with all the crap, my Hours ran out, and I took my 10 I woke up and the place was desolate, I got on the CB and asked, They said everyone rolled out about an hour ago, I grabbed my shower bag went in took my shower and up and over the top I went!. Good times.

I think the worst place is OR I-84 between Cabbage and Ontario. You can hang 'em and take 'em off half a dozen times in that stretch, or just burn 'em up on dry road between the grades. Pain in the butt....

OR 30 outside of Longview WA headed out to Astoria OR kinda sucked.. narrow shoulder and steep grade. Odd part Longview was clear, 1 mile later snow and ice up a 6% grade.

Also OR26 over Mt Hood is kinda bad/

main highways, seconday highways. i think they all suck. not enough room to provide protection from anyone that may slide right into you. should you happen to be on the left side of your rig.

so far, the only pass i seen with stupid drivers. is snoqualmie. about 1 out of every 20 trucks will try to slide their way up.
