I am starting with a company soon they agreed to to give me everything I wanted especially the hometime. I told them if I'm not home in the time we agreed upon then they will need to give me compensation. Anyway anyone ever wrote a contract or something that the company signs guaranteeing certain stipulations?

Sounds like a good company if they're willing to go into contract with you

I never heard of any companies agreeing and signing a drivers contract.Let us know how that goes hannafarms.Hopefully it works.Alot of companies guarantee hometime just not on the day the drivers requested.

I've never known anyone in the trucking/transportation industry who would sign such a "contract", regardless how it was written. There's too many hungry truck drivers out there looking for something new.

I suppose some "local/short regional" operations can feel pretty comfortable about "assuring" home time, but any regional carrier who does not have a set route would be foolish to "guarantee" home time, or offer compensation in lieu of. But we know nothing of the type of operation you're speaking of, so it's hard for us to know if you're being reasonable or not.

It is a trap! companies these days will settle for time home or guaranteed income!

I would go for the second!

Nah, that is cake. If he is not home, he would be, in theory, driving, therefore he would be earning by the mile... there is the "compensation".

You all crack me up lol. It's just weekend hometime which most companies iv worked for have done a great job at. I asked them and yes they are willing to sign a hometime guarantee in order to get me as a driver:)

Want guaranteed home time as a driver? Become an O/O and then you can accept or refuse loads at will. ;)
