Tap the tank with a new nipple available at any hardware store. Someone is going to need a drill and a bit though. If worse came to worse, the driver could always rout out the existing break with a round file...available at the hardware store.

Size is difficult to tell from here, but maybe get brass nipple that fits hose at the loves/ta, heat nipple with a cigar lighter, screw into tank, attach hose.

Slobber jb weld over it all and get it home

Theyre not wrong, drilling isnt good on that, you risk cracking and fully destroying the tank. Thats why i recommended the heat on the nipple, if needa drilled larger, use a stepdrill and heat it to make sure theres melting happening instead of cracking

How much you trust the drivers mechanical skills?

Brakleen to get it absolutely clean. Then put the hose in place and use a whole stick of JB WaterWeld to form around the hose and the opening in the tank. Leave the cap loose so the system doesn't build pressure.

Waterweld is the only thing that will stick to the polyethylene tank.

Give him (yourself?) 400$ and tell him to go to harbor freight and call carquest (napa), sometimes they'll even deliver, but north charleston sc HF has an oreilleys accross the road too

Im too far north to be a help
