I had a 117 mi. run from Temple TX to Desoto TX. I tried to get my live unload for 9:15 this morning switched to a drop and hook at the Sam's DC. I sat inside their gate yesterday for 2 1/2hrs.

Why did I want to do that? Listening to the NOAA weather forecast! I wanted to get out of here and at least pick up the next load. They didn't get it approved before security told me to leave.

I had a preplan to pick up in PAris at Campbells and take it to Houston for tomorrow. Drop and hook in Paris. Live unload 4am in Houston.

It has been sleeting heavy for hours. I am sitting in the Lancaster TX terminal. The truck is rocking from the wind and it is ice covered. There is 1 inch of sleet on the ground. They are calling for 1-4 inches of sleet!

I heard some trucks headed out. I am surprised that they are going out the gate!

If I do take this and deliver I may just come back to the terminal. Some of the roads to Paris are 2 lane.

I have 42K in the box. I might have to chan up to get back to the terminal!

    Later!

Was inside the terminal. One guy has a bobtail order to go to Waxahatchie to get an empty. Yet there is 6 sitting here!

I-35E there is 2 FedEx national with doubles jack knifed into each other. How appropriate!

When I got up the sleet would leave tire tracks in the parking lot. The warm concrete melted it and now it's a sheet of ice 1" thick.

20* and dropping to 9* tonight. It's flurrying out now. I hope the taco wagon makes it! The afternoon one has excellent chicken tacos for $1.50 each.

I slid on over here to Sam's I am heading back to the terminal after getting empty.

Wrecks all over the highways. I watched one dumb Swifty try and climb an on ramp. He got stuck and had to back down off of it:biggrin_25526:

Only pizza place delivering was Jimmy's. It was OK. A Columbus driver and I split a large.

Neither Chinese places were delivering. There is 2 Chinese menus in there. The ones with green lettering, and the ones with red. The red guy always takes the green menus and throws them in the trash. I have been told the green one is a little more money. But better food.

There has been a lot of crash and smash out there. One L/O came in on a hook. Bronze colored Pornstar.

but then again, you're in Dallas...who, i think, the last time saw this much ice was like a million years ago. What gets me, are drivers who drive 'so careful' in the rain, but when it starts to snow, almost could care less about slowing down. should be completly oposite.....
