Could use some Sage advice Pleasr

I spoke to a recuiter for Prime about training and subsiquent hire. I was disqualified because I had been terminated from my last job.

I worked for my last company for 15 years and the one before that for 15, none of them in the trucking industry.

That being said, after a hearing with the Employment Security Dept their findings were I was found to be "in compliance with company policy and that no misconduct had been established".

My question is this....Is this going to be the norm with all company training programs?.....Any ideas as to what to say to a Prime recuiter? It seems to be the company that seems best fits my needs.

Surely recuiters must know that almost all non-union employment is "At Will" even though most companies try to find cause so as to not have to pay unemployment benies and have there contribution go up. At least that's how it is in Washington State.

I have always wanted to drive truck and am in a position to pursue that now.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Drivers Training School Call this school, they have several companies based in Washington that recruit from the school and have tuition reimbursement & funding advice & assistance.

 

As a Graduate from Elite truck School by Portland I would highly reccomend them.
Everyone in my class had a job waiting for them.
The instructors are tops and friendly.
When you do your road test you can either test for Oregon or Washington.

 

I found this a bit funny.

That means in the past 30 years you have been fired from 50% of your jobs.

 

If you get another job and work there for 8 months - any job - then Prime will consider you.

 

Why were you terminated, if I may ask?

 

Also, check out Commercial Driving School (CDS). Straight talk, no bs, excellent job placement, good training.

 

Negligence was the official reason.

I suppose that would be one way of looking at it, in sort of a half full kinda way.

 

I would think that's going to be hard to get past entering trucking. If you go the commercial driving school route, make sure you get some prehires before you spend your money - it doesn't guarantee a job, but it does mean they're looking past this.

 

Go with swift. They will overlook everything except a drug test. They will even overlook the fact you cant drive a truck, haha. Seriously though just try another company. Be honest and upfront. May have to put in time somewhere for awhile to get to the company you really want.
