Hello everyone, I bought a 2004 volvo and it has the icon system in it. I can not figure out how to get it going. I would really be thankfull for any help. I would really like to get it going with the way the price of fuel is. I dont know where to even start at with using it so any help will not go unnoticed. Thanks and roll on.:smt117

Turn off cruise control and engine.
    Start engine
Turn on Cruise, light on dash should flash slowly
Put truck into gear and back out quickly. (light should go onto a slow long flash)
You are done up front, do not turn off key or bump the shifter
Go into sleeper, set temp on panel.

This should work and the directions should be on your visor.
For battery save mode (no temp set) just turn on icon, get it flashing slow and turn off key. Engine will run to keep engine over 70 degrees and battery charged.

It has been 6 months since I got out of my icon equipped truck, but I am pretty sure I did not forget anything.

Just make sure when you figure out how to get it set, ALWAYS use the same routine each time. Otherwise, it can throw the puter for a loop and really screw you up. I'm in a 2008 Volvo with the TAS and it works much better. All you have to do is be in neutral, hit the button and go back and set the t-stat much easier.

Yup, I am in an 06 with TAS now. Much easer to use, and so far none of the glitches that I saw with ICON.
My old icon would mess up at times. The sensor reading outside temp would mess up and read very high (120 degrees outside). When that happened the heat would not be an option, only cool.

I have an underbunk heater in my current truck also though, so I would set TAS at battery save mode and use the bunk heater in winter. I had very very low idle time in winter, and TAS kept block warm. So even when in sub-zero temps this last winter my bunk was warm and I had no cold weather engine issues. While still maintaining 5% idle.

I have a 06 volvo that has an icon system in it. Volvo tried to unplug the icon but could not. Its wired into the ignition. One day i put an inverter in my truck and when i was finished, my truck would not cut off after 5 minutes as it used to. As long as there is power being drawn by the inverter the truck will keep running. I also unplugged the icon control unit that is in the bunk. Just rip out the cover thats attached to the wall. Hope that helps. Goodluck
