I just finished on 3/23 a doctor supervised weight loss plan which included phentermine. I am starting school in June and am very worried about the drug testing. I have read about the drug testing positive for amphetamines. Will it be out of my system by June or should I tell them I was on it and have a doctor's note stating the dates I was on and when I went off. I want to be completely honest about it but I don't want to ruin the possibility of me ever getting on the road. There are some serious horror stories I've been reading about on drug testing. I'm trying to figure out which was worse....the drug or the weight!
How many months away is June? About any drug would be out of your system by then. I wouldn't even mention it. Don't give them a reason to pass on you.
If it was a legit, MD prescribed drug, why hide it? It would *likely* be out of your system, but if not -- you're screwed...
I would deffinately get a note from your doctor and bring it with you.I think the school will need a copy of it.Why don't you take a drug test there in your city and see if you pass.It should'nt cost too much.
Yes, it was legit. I just have scared myself by reading all the posts on drug testing....It seems sometimes they don't care if you were legit at all. I know you can't drive while on phentermine. I can see why....made me loopy!! That's one reason I'm quitting. The other is because I wanna be a team driver with my husband. Now that the kids are in college.
Go back to your doctor, and have him (or his personal assistant) write you up a detailed letter explaining your weight loss program. I'd rather you be up front at the beginning, then to try and explain yourself later. Now, considering you are ONLY attending school..?? YOU WILL BE drug tested. But, it is only school, not an actual employer. By the time you graduate, and find a job?? it'll be out of your system. Now, if the school should deny you entrance after you were up front?? Seek legal counsel, as they would have NO RIGHT to deny you with a doctor's letter.
Thank you Gizmo! I will do that. I think that's the best way to approach it. And yes it is only school for now.
go with Gizmo_Man plus get the strength to do whatever it is without chems then realize that if you have a doctor-order plus have been off it awhile then if that is not good enough for them then there are bigger problems working there -- sometimes you need to get fired,....and there is no shame in it when need be ~ the shame is not having the cold-steel reserve to walk on a screwed-up situation
