I was assigned a Volvo day cab. The dash has the spot for a CB to mount. The previous driver took the Velcro strap that laced into the slots on the dash to secure the radio. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement? I cannot find one at the truck stops. eBay lists all kinds of velcro straps, I just do not know how long it has to be and how wide? I don't want to use the self adhesive strips. To me the strap looks like it should be about an inch and a half wide? Anyone have one they can measure length and width? Or a part number or location I can order it?
Two thoughts: 1. Check with Volvo. 2. Loop a tape measure through the slots and around your rig and see how long a strap you need. Don't forget to add 4-6" for the overlap. This might work; about $5 from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/buy/velcro-23-in-x-7-8-in-one-wrap-straps-3-pack-90700.html
About 5 bucks at Walmart, Cut to length needed. These are about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch width. http://www.walmart.com/ip/NOCO-38-Battery-Box-Strap-Kit/16213368
We have a Volvo at work, if I can remember I'll measure it and get pics for you when I'm there tonight.
