What is hometime and pay like for day cab? US Express has a terminal by my house and I'm thinking of going just for the parking.. lol

I did OTR for Total/US Express years ago. I do whole weekends off and $1200 a week where I'm at, but parking is bad around my location
I'm willing to do NE or SE. I did NE out of NC the last two years and can handle NYC and NJ

well if you are asking about a day cab, it’s not home time…it’s hours worked. So how long your normal shifts will be are dependent on the company, location, & customer that you are serving. You could vary anywhere from a couple hours a day up to 14 hours a day. Being local you also get a 16 hour day available to you once a week.

The company should have a map with circle drawn on it, this is your operating area.

    Not necessarily true...

Im in Minneapolis and I have been from 1 coast to the other in a day cab. LTL companies do it all the time. They send you yard to yard and then put you in a motel for your 10. And with the price for fuel right now, OTR companies would be smart to do that too. A day in a motel is cheaper than idling the truck for 10+ hours in a lot of cases.

A lot of big oversize companies run day cabs too and hotel it every night.

"Dedicated" at these former OTR/Regional companies using day cabs is home every night with x days off and requested 24h; from what little info I've found without talking to a recruiter. They do have some form of seniority dispatch...

Pretty sure no paid dead head and layover and drop and hook like with some LTL and Walmart. US Xpress website and ads don't really give pay structure and scheduling specs for Dedicated; they barely advertise that they have a daycab division
