My def is full but system tells me it's dangerously low. Ok to drive less than 10 miles to shop?

I would go for it. If the warning is early stages it is unlikely to full derate that quick.

With any SCR related fault the guage will default and the light will flash.

Well ... that particular light has been on for maybe 50 or 60 miles cause the truck has been to 2 diff shops in a wk and a half. Went to warm it up and the stop engine light came on for the first time

I guess the real question is how much damage can be caused by driving it another 5 or 6 miles

The enduced derates are design to prevent the truck from operating when it is not meeting emissions requirements. As long as the engine has good oil pressure and coolant in it and in not overheating, no harm will come.

You should be alright to drive it. Might just derate you but won’t hurt anything. More then likely you need a DEF sending unit if you still have the old float style and the voltage checks are in spec.

It's the sending unit causing your issue.
