Do Inverters powered through the cig lighter work for appliances?

I’m looking at Mesilla Valley Transport and they use inverters that plug into the cigarette lighter. I was told drivers power fridges and more with this setup. Is that possible? I have a fridge and also a rice cooker and electric kettle (which draw most of the power from the hard wired inverter I have on my current truck with a different company). I usually just run the truck when using the rice cooker or kettle, but obviously the fridge is always on. I’m skeptical about MVT’s claim that my mini fridge or other appliances can run on this. They also use electric APUs which sounds weak, but I’m mostly concerned about my fridge, kettle, and rice cooker. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Fridge maybe. Kettle and rice cooker, not a chance.

Best bet for those is to bring along a small Honda generator. Strap it to the catwalk, and use it while parked.

Bring it inside when it's not running. If someone tries to steal it while it's running, you'll know lol

With 50 trucks idling you may not.

When your rice cooker or kettle suddenly turns off, I think you'd notice.

You wont get much off a 12 volt inverter. ours were 300 watts at 120 volts, just enough to feed one little laptop computer. Or charge a cell phone.
