    Title says it all..

I've found a couple $20's get me in front of the 4 deep line to wash out pumps/hoses/fittings at the major tanker washes. Worth it if I'm in a hurry to pick up the next load.

And they remember you the next time you show up.

Before you guys start with the jokes, in no way am I soliciting extra services for washing my junk lol.

When I was terminal manager; our wash rack would do quick high pressure washouts of reefers for cash which went into the petty cash box and back to the cleaners as pizza and anything off the truck at beak time. Some of the reefers were nasty.

helllllll no bruce wtf you thinking. I use to get paid from the second I dropped the tank until the tank was done. Why would I waste $20 when you can make more than that just sitting and getting paid while they stick there finger up their ###. or better yet burn your tank insides because they washed it with the wrong stuff LMAO.

    Never.

Driving chemical, we washed out at company terminals.

Food grade, it's included in the wash.

I also got paid $21 an hour for every hour waiting in line, so I was never "in a hurry" to get another load.

Ya gotta learn to pace yourself young man, or you ain't gonna make it to the finish line....

I've tipped a time or two, mostly if I could see those guys were already busy or if I had flocculant or something sticky that was going to be a pain to clean up. Most of the time, however, I just ask nicely and if there's the option to wash them myself I'll just do that. And I should add that I offered tips a few other times but the tankwash folks refused to accept anything other than a thank you.

Cleaning tanks is a hot, dirty job, and I sure wouldn't want to do it, especially not for what it usually pays, so I think the offer of a tip can go a long way toward showing some respect and courtesy for what the tankwash folks do.
