Does anybody know where to get financial assistance for food while out on the road?

Just ask someone.

If you can fuel at loves a lot you can use points for fast Food as well as roller garbage. I've had to do that between jobs.

 

Fellow drivers, please don't hate me for suggesting this, even with all the scruffy beggars out there I've still been known to help a driver out with a bit of cash. Doesn't hurt to ask. Just don't make it a long sad story. We all have places to be.

 

I never give anyone cash but I won’t hesitate to buy someone food so they can eat.

 

I would reach out to my company. Dispatcher, terminal manager, payroll department, HR, someone, because even if they don’t normally give advances, they also don’t want drivers to get so distracted by hunger that they can’t drive safely.

You aren’t a driver who gets paid every two weeks and mismanages your money, you’re a driver who hasn’t been paid for a long time (and never by them). This is a special one time circumstance.
