I was just wondering if TMC helps you find a place to park your truck. I live in Huntsville, AL and am having a hard time finding a place that will give me permission.

    THanks

Sorry you are on your own. I suppose it is possible that during your training you will find a shipper or consignee of TMC's nearby that will give you permission. You will need written permission of the landowner, and you need to keep the truck and trailer attached when parked. That means a space about 10 feet by 75 feet.

I am sure there are threads somewhere on this forum with suggestions. Sometimes vacant lots or closed businesses if you can figure out the owner. Possibly a self storage place with enough space. I am sure you will find a place, but it will use up some shoe leather. Good luck.

Rawlco-I don't know if you check this thread, however, Living in the country, have 2 acres of yard, is this good to go or do I need sentries posted with full auto rifles? If so I gotta find the sentries!

Until you have your first breakin, you are fine. Some thin to consider is: Do you have a solid base where you will park and in the areas you will have to turn around. It is quite embarrsing to get stuck and have to call a tow truck at your own house.

I also live in Huntsville, what part do you live in? I drove for TMC a couple of years ago. I live on the NE side of town and parked at a small fuel stop. I still see a TMC parked there on the weekends.

Thanks Terry, your insight is highly appreciated. I have a neighbor (about 300yds out) that drives for another local company, and has done well parking on the roadside (however I have seen it soft before), as well as a cul-de-sac at the end of the road, however I have never thought how to get a big rig around that thing. I think I should look into gettin some gravel dumped alongside the drive and work on getting that packed firm, 200' drive should be ok for even this rookie to back into.

Something I would consider is getting some of that geotextile fabric to lay down, then put about 6 inches of gravel on top and you will be all set. If you do get a heavy heavy rain week walk accross it first to make sure it isnt' muddy.
