Face it, for some, complaining is just their nature. But by God, give me a violin, some WHINE and some cheese to enjoy, whilst I suffer along through most of the posts on this website.
I'm a 53 year old male, and am considering trucking as an adventurous change of pace. Seems however that now I'm not sure that I would like to share the highways and byways with so many discontent, unhappy, whiny, regretful, angry, lazy, and nincompoop truckers as a lot of you seem. Where's the gusto, excitement, and motivation of today's road cowboys?
C'mon, somebody MUST be enthusiastic about there trucking job! I'd like to hear from some of YOU that keep America moving and and actually ENJOY IT!

I love my job, hate my boss, but love my job. I'm doing what I love.

Hey, wait, why are there two guys holding a white sleeveless jacket at my front door?

I for one liked what I did, and there's many others no doubt that do as well.
Ever hear of the squeaky wheel syndrome? Then again, sometimes a person needs a place to vent, and that armrest on the side of the seat doesn't give much support to other than your elbow.:biggrin_25525:

Man, you had me going til you said this....
I'm all for people cheering other people on, but this so called "whining" (as you put it) is gonna happen. Once you get out here on the road, you will easily find things you need to vent about.

Nothing wrong with it at all...I don't call it "whining", I call it venting and discussing things that are important to us.

Most of us love what we do, but it is a job. And with any job, there are flaws. Truckers venting to other truckers is how we get the negative out of us. We know what each other is going through. The shipper doesn't. The receiver doesn't. The dispatcher doesn't. The DOT doesn't. The public doesn't. Only truckers know what truckers are going thru.

So......you call it whining, I call it venting....I bet you change your word in a couple of years......

Take away all the BS of today and it's great. The ones that quit always want to come back.

If you are one that does everything his wife says (yes dear!, yes dear! anything you say dear!). You have nothing in the world to complain about. Because you are content with the cards you are dealt. :)

So, you don't know anything about the life and yet you think people in it should look at things the way you think they should look at things. What's with the cheerleading and name-calling?

You're looking for "an adventurous change of pace." Meaning what?

You want to hear from "enthusiastic" drivers. What do you want to hear from us?

Thank you for starting what could be a very interesting thread. Let's see what happens when the discontented, unhappy, regretful, angry, and lazy nincompoops reply.

I love my job. I love my fleet, my fleet manager, my driver manager, the trip planners, the mechanics on our fleet. Heck I even like almost all of the gate guards!

But I do believe that not only do people have the right to vent but also the need to do so. I also believe that when others vent about the problems or I vent about the problems in the industry that it helps wannabees hear both the good and the bad.

I also find it interesting when people post threads whining about people whining.

Hey, I'm a discontented, unhappy, regretful, angry, and lazy nincompoop. You have something against discontented, unhappy, regretful, angry and lazy nincompoops?

I wanna start a new club: DURALNin Exclusive....
We could have a sliding dues scale depending on which activities you participate in:
Each snivel costs fifty cents, but you get three for a dollar.
Whines are a quarter each with no volume discount.
Rues are a dollar each, six for five bucks.
Rants are three dollars each, four for ten dollars.
If you want to snooze on the couch, it'll be ten dollars per hour, no prorations.
But drooling, window licking and smacking yourself on the forehead are free...just because watching you entertains the rest of us.

Someone want to start some bylaws for us? I'm too tired. *yawn* I think I'll go lay on that couch.... Durn! Gotta move Ms. Nana first...
