Ok so I have taken 4 of these physicals over the last 4 years for my B license without any problems. I upgraded to my A and the company I'm going to wants another one like most everyone else. I told the examiner that I stopped taking my prescription about 6 months ago but it's only been about 3 months I believe. And now I have to go see my primary doctor to have him confirm the length of time I've been off it, but I haven't been there in over a year so he doesn't know when I went off it. Am I worrying to much about this?even though driving is my livelihood and I just spent $5000 to get my A.

If it's been 6 months take your physical and drug test and be done with it!

Your primary DR. should have a record of the last time he wrote you a script.

It was a script for a mild anti anxiety/ sleeping pill and the examiners for the physical never had any problem with it just would give me a 1 year card. Not sure the last time I had a script written for it but it was probably over a year ago. But I'm sure there was a whole bunch of refills on it. Not sure if that makes a difference. I should of just told her I was still taking it. The only reason I told her was so I could get a 2 year card.

Go get the proof from your doctor.Takes less then 5 minutes. The examiner wants proof for his records and has to do everything the law requires. You can also ask your doctor if he can fax your medical record to the examiner .

Go with a company that doesn't require another physical unless you're sold on the company you're trying to hire on with now.

Your mistake was opening your mouth about the previous prescription. No one would have been the wiser. Good luck

A drug test and a physical is all you need to qualify for a job is true in most cases. However, the medical history may create a speed bump due to acknowledging you had been on Rx for a sleep disorder. The burden of proof is on your doctor to sign off on his last day he issued a Rx and release you from his care. A letter of clean bill of health is not difficult if you can get that doctor to sign it and fax it to the company.

    Agreed.

6 months is a long enough time to have it out of your system.

Besides those types of medicines are a deal with the devil. Once you start taking them, tolerance kicks in and increases until you are on bars. Take away a large dose and your body simply malfunctions. Ive had them and I wont be using them again in this life time.

Those refills you speak of has to go bye bye. You don't want to trigger your State's monitoring program trying to use them now or ever. Every pharmacy that dispenses medicines reports to the Board and the State how many, to who and what day filled. So anything that is out of pattern or unexpected gets looked at really close for potential illegal drug diversion or abuse.
