I am looking for a program software hopefully aftermarket for my laptop computer, had to call out a road side mechanic up in Northern Quebec, temperature was -44 below . On dash regen would not work, was only able to get a forced regen via this guy's lap top. He drove out to me because my DD15 de-rated and shut me down. I now do not trust this system, so therefore I need to equip myself with a program. If anyone know's something or someone, please let me know . Thanks, Paul "Sharky " Chartrand.

all his lapotp did. was force the issue to get you down the road. generally, if it don't work. there's a problem somewhere. which means your be stranded again somewhere else. get the problem fixed and you won't have to worry about a laptop program.

i had the same problem on a isx. problem was a egr pressure sensor. so far, no problem with manual regens.

that program he has. is roughly $10,000 program.

I do appreciate it Snowwy, but I was also told it was due to the -44 below zero that it would not regenerate. DPF light was on , read instruction manual, it says to keep up highway speeds and it was supposed to regen on it's own. But after an hour of driving, the light started to flash, I stopped and tried to do the manual regen as per manual and switches on the dash and still no success. Kept a rolling, then the check engine light came on , proceeded to the mine site to deliver product , ran it for about six hours, to get out to civilization, called dealership , did not make it. Got de- rated and shut down. Thank goodness for Webasto bunk heaters, because I would've froze. This road side mechanic forced a regen, as he plugged in and got readings , pressure outlet on DPF was very high, and as the regen started, the heat forced the pressure to be reduced to normal . After 20 to 30 minutes of regen, everything came back to normal and motor has been running great ever since . Dealership says , cant ' t fix what's not broken .

the check engine light was what stopped the regen from functioning.

in my case. i shut the truck down for the night. fired up in the morning. dpf was still on but engine light wasn't. i was able to do the regen then.

went 3 weeks before the engine light came on again. that's when the egr pressure sensor got replaced. have had no problems regen since.

your truck is different. but may be doing the same thing i went through. and given some time. you may end up with the engine light again.

it may not be broken at the moment. but the ecm on your truck maintains any codes that were set. regardless of light on or not. that would at least give them something to may be diagnose and prevent you from breaking down in the future.

i don't think you can erase any codes from the ecm without the actual laptop plugged in. or some other form of ecm diagnostic tool. the ecm maintains any hard codes that are acting up and soft codes that made a breif appearance.

least, that's been my ecm experience with problems i've had to deal with.

I don't know if this applies but I work around Frontloader garbage trucks. One in particular is a McNielus Mack Frontloader. The issuse is that I turned off while it was regen-ing. Went in and turned off the key. Now the truck won't start. It will turn on but not start. What did I do and how do I fix it?

    P.S. I am not a mechanic.
