To all USX drivers who have been at the company for a while my question is this, why is it that our F/M's chose to communicate to us only by the driver tech, and not on the phone? I've talked with mine maybe once since I started, but he will always answer the driver tech, now I know they have a lot of other drivers they have to take care of so I don't expect long phone conversation, but you would at least like to have some phone time with them a couple times a week anyway.
That's simple, you can't be held responsible for what you say on the phone, but the other way its in writting. Besides drivers mean nothing to them. They don't want to belittle themselves by talking to us..
Mine never seems to want to talk on the phone. Maybe its because they handle a lot of drivers. I think we should talk at least once a week but I doubt that will ever happen. I think the company prefers to document everything thru the driver tech.
From what I've been told, they want a documented paper trail of communication. My old FM would send a message over DT summarizing any phone communications we had.

Yeah, my drive tech is giving me problems, gps is not working well, says hardware problem. See if I can get a load down to hot and toasty Laredo TX, and get it fixed there, great Mexican food.
