After two days of trying to book a load in Jacksonville FL ( 15854 posts @ 1.31 loads/ truck ratio which is pretty good compared to) at the nominal rate of $2.00/mile but terrors behind the seen intercepted all the calls and answered either the load is covered or the rate at which it was not possible. Example is Freight Quote load from GA area to Saginaw MI full heavy load for $1500 going into the snow when the normal rate for this run is about $2300. Going to Brooklyn was offered at $1800 confidentially and said this was the best rate out of here to NY ( That's a comment from THE Trxxh ) He said he is TQL Savannah GA One day to see if the trash learns anything out of the pass two day but they didn't ( If they could they won't be in that Character) Again at the end of the day the terrors called he said this was Freight Quote (Mike ) and wanted me to do that run for him for $1500 tops. Other than that all loads were booked or offered at below the market and cost of operation. Columbia SC , even though the posting rate was at 26.2 posts / minute and the total postings 1,6332 @ 4.51 loads/truck still loads were answered covered as soon they were posted (Landstar to Greencastle PA or something like that) or the offer was at two dollars a mile. If the loaded miles are paying 2.00/mile than actual miles rate goes down below $1.75/ mile. and the terrors did not let me pick a load for $2.0/ mile down towards South, I cam here on a load for Freight Quote from RI to AL about 1250 miles for $1400 and that was after fighting for a day or two. The Industry knows that running a trucking company which goes to Northeast should make better than $2.40/mile on average to stay in business. So here is the end of 4th day running empty to the northeast from Jacksonville FL. My cost to run the trucking company is $1.53/mile and I do not have a huge payment yet. The Insurance MAFIA has increased my insurance every year (mysteriously) to $8000/year for 40,000-60,000 yearly miles with clean records for no obvious reason. Cavalry answered that $1700 to Bethlehem PA for a full 42K load. Thanks a nice . So lets have an applause for Behind The Seen Gangs for Stopping a working person and earning the bread n butter. Attached is the list of Load to truck ratio
Sadly, it makes no difference to most brokers/shippers what it cost to run a truck up and down the road. It is all about supply and demand. If someone else will haul it for a buck a mile, there is little to no reason to pay you a buck and a penny a mile to deliver it.The industry might know how much it costs to keep the wheels turning, but most do not care. If one trucker leaves the business, another will come along and take his place.Like a big produce shipper told me years ago, " IT IS ALL ABOUT SUPPLY AND DEMAND. YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING WITH IT RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS, AND YOU GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT WITH IT RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS".
DCL Trucking out of Indianapolis IN is the last one I have tried, I found out from a trucker from my area about them and he said he was very happy the way he has been getting the loads with a very little dead head and he goes to Indianapolis area (600 miles ) for $900-1200 and back with $1900- 2200 and ends up with $1400-$1500 in his pocket after fuel and his commission. I asked him to use his phone and have me talk to him. At this time the guy told me the same thing and told me that I have come to the right place. He further elaborated that his company revenues 1.7 million /year. Next day I called him and his voice sounded and different and told me that he has a load for me from Levittown PA to Indianapolis for whopping $750 for a full 42k load. I did not want to refuse it the first call so I did it. Later he changed further into an asxxholx and told me that I have to give a favors and pick loads for him 157 miles away for $350 to get any favors from him the other guy is happy as I saw him the first day and he is still happy and don't have any problems. Apparently the first time I talked to him was on his phone and it was spontaneous and no briefing could have occurred in a very short time and later he got threats from the terror behind the seen and he totally changed into an asxholx. We agreed to be paid fuel advance he did not keep that promise either and told me that his bank was empty and will not have the fuel advance till next week. By then I had already dropped the load. Then the rates changed to lower prices and minimum 100 miles dead head. And told me that the only way to make money is to go to NY for whopping $2/mile to Albany NY from KS area. He asked me a verbal commitment to work with him for at least one month which I gave even if he did not keep his promise and had changed his loyalty to the trash behind the seen not me who he had verbally and on the paper signed to stay in good faith. Same thing was at BRS Express in Corona NY and same thing at Panther II in OH. Every thing is discussed normally at the first time and after the trash behind the seen call the person sells his mother for a buck (means becomes unethical and lowlifer)
Supply and demand is what keeps this business so lucrative that many lawyers and architects and IT people are doing it. The industry can't find enough truckers look at the Gov and Economic Data. If you are telling me that DAT is a fraud reporting company then the US market will crash because all the planning and rates and budgets are set by the DAT reporting and two other major load boards DAT being the largest off all. It is the trash behind the seen answering the phone in the Columbia SC market which is hot year around and yesterday the posting rate was at 26.2 loads/ minute and the total posting of 16332 @ 4.51 loads / truck. That is a very strong market if you have any clues about supply and demands. There are 60k shortage of trucks as of right now. What are you talking about???
There are plenty of trucks. But it does appear that there are people plotting against you. Or you would be making plenty of money like my friends. One friend of mine recently added 2 trucks to his fleet. His trucks are busy. As a matter of fact, the deal all his trucks are on right now, he still gets paid in full even if the load cancels.
