Hey all I have a 378 and i would like to put a 379 ex hood on it. Has anyone taken a short hood and turned it into a long hood? Is it possible? I was hoping to ad frame to the front and slide the steer axle forward. Any info or advice would be great. Thanks.

Why not just trade on a REAL 379X truck , likely cheaper in the long run

It would be easier to slide the cab back stronger too. But as said buy the truck you want and be done

You have to remove the whole cab and sleeper, extend the frame and move the steering axle fwd. Do ya really wanna do that? Requires new wiring, piping, maybe move airtanks, fuel tanks, and move the engine and radiator fwd.

A 378 cab sits higher on the frame than a 379. It would br easier to convert a 379 short hood than a 378.
