FireFox's recent update seems to be a loser. I have been having problems with the browser freezing on a regular basis (like every few minutes) since this update. Is anyone else having this problem? I have actually gone back to using IE.

Hmmmm thats totally interesting. I just installed it on a clients computer for added security when they collect orders to process, and I witnessed the SAME thing. I thought it might be lack of ram in the machine. How much ram are you running???

I got the update and using it as I type this. I have not had any problems yet and if I did. I would jut back the update off. The one thing it did change that I don't like. It shows every darn url in my address window now. It never did that before the update. It would only give me one address for each site I visited. Gotta luv technology sometimes .........

Thats exactly what I have been doing. LOL After the windows 95 fiasco, I don't rush to get a new version of ANYTHING. :biggrin_25525:

I have a gig. I just spent some time cleaning up some registry keys, clearing out temp files, etc, and it seems to be cooperating better now. Maybe I just had too much crap built up! We'll see how it behaves while I browse the forum and nibble on some brownies.

Let me know, because I dumped their stuff and set them up on a dump for every browser close. Still didn't help. I'm still going to add some ram to that machine, and see if it improves, but we might have to get a new machine period. Its pretty old. LOL

It seems like program updates do not take older machines into account. Since the dump of the junk, it does seem to be behaving a better. Still get an occasional glitch, but not like it was before. My machine is only a bit over a year old.

I bought a utilities program called system mechanic at best buy a while back, and it has done wonders for my puter, I now run it once a week along with esuing free registry cleaner.

the gremlins i was having problems with have completely disappeared
