just wondering if anyone else has had any mechanical problems as far as engine faults with DEF. One popped up on me today, DEF injector #1 not responding. According to my manual, keep driving and service when can. Until then, look at the little yellow enging lite on the dash. If anyone else has had this, how was it corrected. Do not want to call road service just yet. It will mean opening a work order, and there goes $30.

    Thanks

I would have them take a look at it when u can get to a terminal in the mean time if the yellow light on the dash is bothering u cover it up with some electrical tape I've not had a problem with a truck that uses def but I've only been running that type of trucks for about a year now

I have had that light come out, amber engine looking and stays on. They looked at it and didn't seem to know crap and reset it. Came on again, but then went out a day later and hasn't come back on since. Mine came on driving up Donner when I was letting the engine lug a bit in 7th gear at about 43mph at 1200 rpm, 2nd time it came on same thing up a hill same speed/rpm. Says emissions prob for the code in my book.

If it's a Cummins engine, and it only does that when you let the rpms down on an uphill, it may be time to change out the crank case filter.

Our account has 22 - 2011 Volvos with the Volvo engine (maybe 50k mile at the time) and one had an injector issue, it's warning message counted down to an engine derate, made it to Manteno before the clock ran out. Truck drove fine the entire time. Trucks now have over 250K miles on them with no major problems with the SCR systems. Unlike the Internationals (300K) that needed regened all the time.

My In-laws were at one time the oldest - RYDER - dealer in the U.S. ( Now Budget ) .and ever international new or old that came in had a manifold exhaust light on , it was a P.C. problem that caused no problems.

This has happened on ours a few times--normally after your truck is shut off for 3 times it will go away. I have asked kw about it but they said unless it stays on all the time--its not a big worry. Ours usually goes off and stays off after the truck has been restarted 3 times. Its weird but hasnt happened to us in a while.
