Just got a new tablet phone, looking for an uncomplicated, free app that will allow me to map routes and mark destinations. Anyone have any favorites? Much obliged.

yesh, but it's not trucking. unless they've changed there ways.

but i'd recommend it also. i give it 10 thumbs and 10 toes up. and i have it. on my phone and the pcmiler unit. both are the same software.

The only free truck routing solution you will find is an Atlas. Copilot Truck is the only mobile truck routing software available for the US and it cost $160. They also have a laptop version for around $250. I have seen several fly-by-night subscription bases apps popup but all were short lived. You cant go wrong with Copilot Truck for $160 though. I have been using it ever since it was released. Its great for the long haul routing over the interstates, US highways, and state routes but it doesnt do very well with the "last mile" local routing. I still use Google Maps/Satellite/Street views for that.

Both versions (phone and laptop) are $149.99 for the truck-route specific flavor.

Thats because truck drivers are complainers. I gave it good reviews and have been using since its inception.
