I have a Galaxy dx33hml that came with the my truck (Freightliner FL70, yes, I know) when I bought it. I can talk but I don't seem to be able to recieve (or at least I can't hear it if I am). I'm not sure about the echo knob or the one next to it (one is echo effect and the other is echo sound (according to the manual)). Anyway, when you key the mic the SWR goes right to the number seven on the green on the meter and the led light shows red. I'm not too up on the how to's of CB's. I have the squelch to the left, volume to the middle, RF to the right, RF power switch to hi, Band switch to hi, the Band selector knob is in the middle and the Mode switch to FM. I'm not a CB person so, I have no idea whether these settings are right. I have one CB antannae mounted on the passenger side mirror. It is the kind with a coil around the bottom. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.....
There may be another issue, but that switch should be on AM. I don't remember how the band switches work, but you should avoid keying up on it until you know for sure you're on the CB frequencies.
For starters the "mode" switch needs to be on AM and then the "Band" knob needs to be on "D". Otherwise your who knows where up in the airwaves...
This is a channel chart you want CB ( band sel D, band sw HI ) all others are ILLEGAL and band sel F band switch puts you in tha 10 meter HAM BAND a place you don't want to be.
